Boost Plus Energy Gel is a fast-release gel with a high content of caffeine, and carbohydrates, designed for times when a boost of energy is needed. All flavours contain 107mg of caffeine and 25g of carbohydrates, the Salted Caramel flavour also contans sodium.
Boost Plus Energy Gel combines two types of carbohydrates: maltodextrin and fructose, in a 2:1 ratio between glucose and fructose. Glucose and fructose use different transporters to pass from the intestine into the bloodstream. When glucose is consumed in amounts above 60 g/h, its transporter may become saturated which will lead to gastrointestinal disorders and, consequently, decreased performance. Thus, this combination allows better use of energy, as has already been verified in several modalities.
